Didactic methods

Each disease/etiologic agent will be thoroughly discussed through oral lectures.
Students that attend the course will receive the schedule of the entire module with dates, classroom, and subjects of each lesson at their first lecture.
Students that do not attend the course will receive didactic support by the lecturer as well as updated study material.

Learning assessment procedures

The exam consists in an oral examination. Pictures will be administered to the student during the exam in order to evaluate its ability in recognizing the zoonotic etiologic agents included in the course program.
The oral examination aims to verify the student's knowledge about the diseases in the program and his/her ability to recognize their importance e the suitable diagnostic protocols.
The oral examination is potentially about any subject of the program, with particular attention to the etiologic agent, biological cycle, sources of infection, importance, pathology, and diagnostic methods.
The score is up to 30 summa cum laudae.

Evaluation criteria

The elements of evaluation that contribute to the attribution of the vote are:
• knowledge and understanding,
• the ability to apply knowledge,
• autonomy of judgment, or the ability to criticize and formulate judgments,
• communication skills.

In evaluating the individual tests and assigning the grade, teachers refer to the following
learning evaluation scale.

<18 insufficient: Fragmented and superficial knowledge of the contents, errors in applying the concepts, lack of exposure
18 - 20: Knowledge of sufficient but general contents, simple exposition, uncertainties in the application of theoretical concepts
21 - 23: Appropriate but not in-depth knowledge of content, ability to apply theoretical concepts, ability to present content in a simple way
24 - 25: Appropriate and broad knowledge of contents, fair ability to apply knowledge, ability to present contents in an articulated way.
26 - 27: Precise and complete knowledge of contents, good ability to apply knowledge, analytical skills, clear and correct presentation
28 - 29: Broad, complete and in-depth knowledge of the contents, good application of the contents, good ability to analyze and synthesize, safe and correct exposure,
30 - 30 cum laude: Very broad, complete and in-depth knowledge of the contents, well-established ability to apply the contents, excellent ability to analyze, synthesize and interdisciplinary connections, mastery of exposure
