Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
Il corso si propone di fornire una conoscenza approfondita sulla biologia delle cellule eucariotiche, con particolare attenzione alle cellule vegetali, e soprattutto relativamente alle tematiche della compartimentazione e del traffico intracellulare delle macromolecole nonché dei meccanismi di targeting delle proteine, e del controllo della proliferazione cellulare.
Tali conoscenze sono sono necessarie al biotecnologo nella fase di progettazione di sistemi vegetali biotech.
Verrà inoltre approfondito un aspetto di impatto più immediatamente applicativo delle biotecnologie cellulari, ovvero l’utilizzo di cellule vegetali in bioreattore per la produzione di molecole di interesse industriale, al fine di familiarizzare lo studente con una tecnologia di probabile grande impatto futuro.
Le lezioni saranno accompagnate da esperienze pratiche di laboratorio, durante le quali gli studenti dovranno applicare quanto discusso nelle lezioni frontali a specifici progetti di ricerca.
Program
1) Biologia cellulare:
-trasporto ed integrazione delle proteine attraverso le membrane (RE, targeting co-trasduzionale e post-trasduzionale, struttura e funzione del traslocone sec61);
-il GA e la -N glicosilazione delle proteine delle proteine nel RE e post-RE; ruolo e aspetti applicativi;
-il controllo di qualità nella via di secrezione
-meccanismi di formazione e fusione di vescicole lungo la via di secrezione
-targeting delle proteine ai corpi lipidici
-targeting delle proteine ai corpi proteici
-targeting delle proteine ai lisosomi e ai vacuoli
-targeting delle proteine a plastidi e mitocondri
- il controllo del ciclo cellulare e la divisione cellulare
2) utilizzazione delle cellule vegetali in bioreattore per la produzione di molecole di interesse industriale:
-le colture di cellule vegetali come bioreattori: introduzione
-produzione di metaboliti secondari: strategie per l’aumento della produttività (selezione, ottimizzazione delle condizioni di coltura, elicitazione)
-le colture di organi differenziati
-le biotrasformazioni
-produzione di metaboliti secondari attraverso metodiche di ingegnerizzazione metabolica
- l’uso di colture in vitro per la produzione di proteine per via ricombinante
