Laurea in Scienze del servizio sociale - Enrollment from 2025/2026Per garantire questo fine, si invitano gli studenti a rispettare le seguenti indicazioni per il completamento di tale ambito:
- almeno un’attività formativa erogata come esame universitario (con relativo voto in trentesimi); si consigliano gli esami di Filosofia politica – Prof.ssa Ilaria Possenti, CdS in Scienze della comunicazione, Diritto del lavoro – Prof.ssa Laura Calafà, CdS in Scienze psicologiche per la formazione, Diritto penale – prof. Lorenzo Piccotti, Laurea magistrale a ciclo unico in Giurisprudenza e Legislazione minorile – Prof.ssa Silvana Strano Ligato, Laurea magistrale a ciclo unico in Giurisprudenza;
- massimo 6 cfu relativi a competenze linguistiche (oltre a quelli previsti dal PdS);
- massimo 6 cfu relativi a competenze informatiche (oltre a quelli previsti dal PdS) - ECDL e i corsi di base non saranno più riconosciuti;
- massimo 4 cfu di tirocinio, (oltre a quelli previsti dal PdS);
- massimo 6 cfu di attività laboratoriale/esercitazioni (compresi quelli previsti nei PdS per l’ambito) di regola viene riconosciuto 1 cfu ogni 25 ore di attività;
- massimo 6 cfu di attività seminariale/convegni/cicli di incontri/formative in genere (sia accreditata dal Dipartimento di Scienze Umane che extrauniversitaria) – di regola viene riconosciuto 1 cfu ogni 8 ore di partecipazione e/o 2 giornate salvo diversamente deliberato;
- non vengono valutate attività svolte in Erasmus non inserite nei Learning Agreement.

Learning outcomes
General Learning outcomes A) THEORY Knowledge and understanding - Knowledge and understanding of the listening and analysis methodologies of individual needs - Knowledge and understanding of the bio-psycho-social roots of the individual needs - Knowledge and understanding of the different types of social intervention Ability to apply knowledge and understanding - Ability to carry out needs assessment - Ability to conduct social work interviews - Ability to write a social work report - Ability to set clear and realistic targets for social work interventions SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES The course is centered on providing students with the knowledge necessary to professionally project and conduct social work interventions. Particular attention will be given to the methodological features of the support process and the needs assessment as well as the targets setting aspects will be explored more in detail. B) PROFESSIONAL ETHICS Knowledge and understanding - Knowledge and understanding of main principles and foundations of the social work practice Applying Knowledge and understanding - Recognizing, respecting and promoting the main objectives of professional social work. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES The course aims to introduce the student to the core knowledge, skills, ethics and values underpinning social work, both as a discipline and as a profession. The course aims to analyse the historical development of social work and illustrate its philosophical foundations. The course also guides the student as to the context of the values and theories that constitute the basis upon which the scientific and methodological structure of social work is based. By the end of the course, the student should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the nature, aims, theories, and values of social work. The student will also be able to place social work in its historical context and the wider welfare system.

The course is composed of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part will focus on the following aspects: • The social work help relationship: definitions and conceptual elements; • The methodological approach of the social service: definitions and stages of theoretical development: • Social work tools and instruments: the interview, the home/site visit the case notes and file • The emotional implications and professional responsibility in the social work decision making. The practical part will focus on the following aspects: • Real life cases to be used as a basis for the analysis and decision making on how the case should be handled and the different actors involved. • Audio-visual materials (including movies) to be used for guided discussion and professional tools to be employed in the social work practice • Workshop with the participation of experts and testimonials to discuss specific themes and personal experience of former clients The course will have lectures with discussion of the social work conceptual elements and practical exercises with a specific focus on the students’ involvement.

The final test will consist of a written test. The test will cover the contents of the program and will be composed of five open-ended questions aimed at ascertaining the knowledge of the topics taught during the course. Each question will be awarded maximum 6 points. Once both courses, the present and the "Principles and Foundations" one, have been passed, the student will get a single mark resulting from the average of the marks obtained in the two modules. Intermediate tests are not foreseen.
