Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
knowledge of the civilization stages, geographical environment and main historical events of the ancient Near East, knowledge of the main historical sources concerning the periods treated and of the methods for their analysis; knowledge of the main and recent approaches to the study of the ancient Near East and of the main bibliographical tools. The second part of the course (p) is aimed at an in-depth study of specific sectors of the history of the ancient Near East and relating sources, at providing the knowledge of specific bibliography, analytical and research tools framed in an integrated approach combining historical, phylological and archaeological data and methods.
Program
The course (i+p) is aimed at providing a comprehensive view of the history of the ancient Near East from prehistory to first millennium BC. The first part (course i) is general in character and considers the major historical peridizations of Syro-Mesopotamian history, from the beginning of urban civilization to the Late Babylonian period.
