Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The general objective of the course, dedicated to Europe between the two wars and the rebirth of democracy after the collapse of dictatorships, is to provide students with the knowledge and analytical tools with which to reflect critically on one of the key points of European history of the twentieth century. Particular attention will be given to the Italian case.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to
- reconstruct the stages of development of European political history between the two world wars
- to place the Italian case in the more general framework of continental history
- retrace the evolution of historiographic interpretations of Fascism and the early Republican age
- to know the characteristics of the fascist political, institutional and cultural experiment
- understand the specific characteristics of historical transitions and the continuity/discontinuity correlation that marks their development
- to reflect critically on the periodizations proposed by historiography
- enhance an interdisciplinary approach to the study of historical phenomena

The examination will consist of a written test with open-ended questions. The evaluation will also take into account participation in seminar activities.

Double degree
The University of Verona, through a network of agreements with foreign universities, offers international courses that enable students to gain a Double/Joint degree at the time of graduation. Indeed, students enrolled in a Double/Joint degree programme will be able to obtain both the degree of the University of Verona and the degree issued by the Partner University abroad - where they are expected to attend part of the programme -, in the time it normally takes to gain a common Master’s degree. The institutions concerned shall ensure that both degrees are recognised in the two countries.
Places on these programmes are limited, and admissions and any applicable grants are subject to applicants being selected in a specific Call for applications.
