Academic calendar

Learning outcomes
The course intends to introduce the students to a general knowledge of the Medieval architecture. The main purpose is to ensure the acquisition of a correct way of reading and comprehending the architectural forms, in the middle ages.
Program
The Course is dived in few parts focused on the deepening of specific topics connected to the comprehension of the medieval architecture, with particular reference to the West area.
A section will focus on the analysis of the evolutionary aspects, from the beginning of the Christianity to the late Middles Age. The most important occidental monuments will be taken in consideration and, through detailed analysis of the plans, the main lines of evolution of the architectonic models will be identified .
Another part of the course will address more closely to the problems of medieval construction.
More visits to one or more monuments related to the topic of the lessons are expected.
