Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
Skill in orientation through the main problems of the archaeological research providing the theoretical and practical basic elements on methodology, to be deepened by practicing them both on the ground and in laboratory.
The student will be provided with a picture of stratigraphic methods of excavations and the explanations of the Harrisian diagram and the modern approach to the archaeological research.
Program
The first part of the course (18 hours) shall be held by Prof. Patrizia Basso and it shall be dedicated, within the general field of the history of studies, to the methodology in the archaeological research both on the ground and in the interpretation of the archaeological data; the second part shall be held by Prof. Daniela Cocchi. It will aim to problems related to the analysis and study of manufactured objects.
The attendance to classes is warmly recommended. Those who could not attend the classes are invited to agree with the professor alternative programmes. In any case alternative programmes shall include two more works to study among those indicated above (the first from group A and the second from group B).
