Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning objectives
MODULO BIOCHIMICA E CHIMICA DELL'INQUINAMENTO AMBIENTALE: the course aims to provide students with the principles for knowledge: of specific terminology; direct and indirect analysis techniques for air, water and soil pollutants; the mechanisms, causes, effects and costs of pollution; purification techniques and self-purification phenomena; of techniques to limit pollution and its effects.
MODULO BIOLOGIA MOLECOLARE: the course also aims to provide an updated view of molecular biology techniques that are used in different clinical settings including prenatal diagnosis of genetic and chromosomal disorders, diagnosis of mendelian and oncoematologic diseases, infertility and pharmacogenetics.
MODULO BIOTECNOLOGIE RICOMBINANTI: the course aims to make students understand the basic stages of the birth of modern biotechnologies and the current applications of recombinant biotechnology in biomedical and pharmaceutical fields. We will discuss issues of a scientific, ethical and biological nature. The course also aims to provide an updated view of recombinant techniques including techniques for reproductive and therapeutic cloning, technic for the reproduction of recombinant drugs
MODULO METODI E TECNICHE DI GENETICA E BIOLOGIA MOLECOLARE: the training objective is to provide adequate knowledge of the theoretical principles and application of the techniques for detection of genetic alterations, in a functional framework considering the main diseases related to alterations of genes, including cancer.
MODULO METODOLOGIA DIAGNOSTICA MOLECOLARE: the course aims to make students understand the role of genetic testing in the clinical course of the patient. The course also aims to provide students who have no medical training the basic knowledge on the clinical aspects concerning the genetic basis of diseases. The course aims to provide an updated view of molecular biology techniques that are used in a clinical setting.
Examination Methods
A test may be given in the form of oral, written, open-ended or multiple-choice, practical exercise or preparation of a paper. This test shall cover all topics included/executed within the programs of the component modules of the teaching.
Evaluation criteria
The assessment elements that contribute to the awarding of the grade are: knowledge and the ability to understand, the ability to apply knowledge, autonomy of judgment, that is, the ability to make critical sense and formulate judgments, the ability to communicate. In evaluating the individual tests and awarding the grade, the teaching teachers refer to the following scale for assessing learning. Lower than 18 : Fragmentary and superficial knowledge of content, errors in applying concepts, poor exposition 18 - 20 : Sufficient but general content knowledge, simple exposition, uncertainties in applying theoretical concepts 21 - 23 : Appropriate but not thorough content knowledge, ability to apply theoretical concepts, ability to present content in a simple way 24 - 25 : Appropriate and extensive content knowledge, fair ability to apply knowledge, ability to present content in an articulate manner. 26 - 27 : Content knowledge accurate and complete, good ability to apply knowledge, ability to analyze, clear and correct exposition 28 - 29 : Broad, complete and thorough knowledge of content, good application of content, good ability to analyze and synthesize, confident and correct exposition, 30 or 30 cum laude : Very broad, complete and in-depth content knowledge, well-established ability to apply content, excellent ability to analyze, synthesize and make interdisciplinary connections, mastery of exposition.

Tirocinio professionalizzante
Durante l'esperienza di tirocinio la supervisione dello studente è garantita da un sistema di tutorato articolato su 2 o 3 livelli e, di norma, assunto da operatori dello stesso profilo professionale degli studenti:
Tutor professionale con competenze avanzate sia pedagogiche che professionali; collabora all'organizzazione e gestione dei tirocini, alla progettazione e conduzione di laboratori di formazione professionale. Seleziona le opportunità formative, integra l'esperienza pratica con la teoria appresa, presidia in particolare le prime fasi di apprendimento di un intervento o di una competenza. Si occupa dei processi di apprendimento degli studenti in difficoltà, facilita i processi di valutazione dell'apprendimento in tirocinio e tiene i rapporti con le sedi di tirocinio. I Tutor Professionali sono scelti in accordo con le strutture sanitarie presso cui si svolge l'attività formativa e assegnati con incarichi triennali alla struttura didattica.
Guida di Tirocinio/tutor clinico è l'operatore che guida lo studente nella sede di tirocinio mentre svolge le sue normali attività lavorative. E' garante della sicurezza dello studente e degli utenti, vigila affinché gli utenti ricevano una prestazione di qualità anche quando essa venga delegata agli studenti, si assicura che gli stessi siano informati e diano il loro consenso ad essere assistiti da uno studente.
Al termine di ciascun anno di corso viene effettuata una valutazione certificativa per accertare i livelli raggiunti dallo studente nello sviluppo delle competenze professionali attese.

Prova Finale
Per essere ammessi alla prova finale occorre avere conseguito tutti i crediti nelle attività formative previste dal piano degli studi, compresi quelli relativi all’attività di tirocinio. Alla preparazione della tesi sono assegnati 7 CFU. La prova è organizzata, con decreto del MIUR di concerto con il Ministro del Lavoro, della Salute e delle Politiche Sociali, in due sessioni definite a livello nazionale. La prova finale, con valore di esame di Stato abilitante all’esercizio della professione di Tecnico Sanitario di Laboratorio Biomedico, si compone di:
Prova pratica: nel corso della quale lo studente deve dimostrare di aver acquisito le conoscenze e abilità teorico-pratiche e tecnico-operative proprie dello specifico profilo professionale.
Tesi: redazione e dissertazione di un elaborato.
Lo studente per il lavoro di tesi avrà la supervisione di un docente del Corso di Laurea, detto Relatore, ed eventuali correlatori in possesso almeno della laurea triennale anche se esterni al Corso di Laurea. Scopo della tesi è quello di impegnare lo studente in un lavoro di formalizzazione, progettazione e di ricerca, che contribuisca sostanzialmente al completamento della sua formazione professionale e scientifica. Il contenuto della tesi deve essere inerente a tematiche o discipline strettamente correlate al profilo professionale. Si ricorda che presentare tesi copiate o procurate da altri costituisce reato. (Legge 475/1925 tutt’oggi in vigore).
Valutazione della prova pratica
Al voto della prova pratica espresso dalla Commissione in trentesimi viene assegnato il seguente punteggio:
da 18/30 a 20/30 = 1 punto;
da 21/30 a 23/30 = 2 punti;
da 24/30 a 26/30 = 3 punti;
da 27/30 a 29/30 = 4 punti;
da 30/30 a 30/30 e lode = 5 punti.
Valutazione della tesi
La valutazione della tesi sarà basata sui seguenti criteri: livello di approfondimento del lavoro svolto; contributo critico del laureando; accuratezza della metodologia adottata per lo sviluppo della tematica.
Punteggio finale
Il punteggio finale di Laurea è espresso in cento decimi ed è formato:
- Media ponderata rapportata a 110 dei voti conseguiti nei 20 esami curriculari (arrotondata per eccesso o per difetto al numero intero più vicino);
- Somma delle valutazioni ottenute nella prova pratica (fino ad un massimo di 5 punti);
- Discussione della Tesi: da 0 fino ad un massimo di 4 punti per tesi compilativa; da 0 fino ad un massimo di 6 punti per tesi sperimentale.
La commissione di Laurea potrà attribuire ulteriori punti anche in base a:
- Presenza di eventuali lodi ottenute negli esami sostenuti fino ad 1 punto aggiuntivo;
- Partecipazione ai programmi Erasmus fino a 2 punti aggiuntivi;
- Laurea entro i termini della durata normale del corso 2 punti aggiuntivi.
La lode può venire attribuita con parere unanime della Commissione ai candidati che conseguano un punteggio finale maggiore o uguale a centodieci. È prevista la possibilità per lo studente di redigere l'elaborato in lingua inglese.
