The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning objectives
At the end of the module the student, through the internship in small groups in the Internal Medicine divisions, should be able to: - collect a complete, accurate and differentiated medical history tailored according to the kind of patient; - perform a complete physical exam to identify the signs of the main diseases; - integrate the data obtained from medical history and physical exam to formulate consistent diagnostic hypotheses and to request the execution of the most relevant tests to obtain the correct diagnosis; - establish the appropriate medical therapy for the different pathologies and according to patient characteristics; - schedule and manage patient follow-up.
Examination Methods
There is no formal examination. Evaluation of the acquired knowledge and skills are checked during the entire internship period by the clinical mentor. Therefore, the student will be evaluated during the course of the entire internship.
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation by the tutor should take into consideration all the aspects on the last page of the appropriate booklet i.e., the medical knowledge and skills attained by the student, his or her professionalism, and his or her ability to interact with the patient, other health professionals, and relatives. The tutor will express his/her evaluation, for each of the training objectives, using the following letters: A corresponding to excellent; B excellent; C good; D satisfactory; E sufficient; F insufficient. The final evaluation will be expressed, by the tutor in terms of: "suitable" or "not suitable." Only the achievement of suitability allows access to the Graduate Examination, which is qualifying for the profession of medical surgeon; in case of ineligibility, the student will have to repeat the internship.
