MED/04 - PATOLOGIA GENERALE
Learning objectives
The course aims to bring students to: understanding the functions of the immune system in health and disease. For this aim, the student will acquire knowledge of the fundamental biological mechanisms that regulate the immune system in defense against diseases as well as to identify both the functional mechanisms of the immune system in conditions of health or disease and the basis of the most common laboratory immunological techniques in order to be able to interpret the results of laboratory. In particular the objectives are:
1. Acquisition of knowledge of the fundamental biological mechanisms that regulate the functioning of the immune system in defense against diseases;
2. Characteristics of Innate Immunity
3. Characteristics of Adaptive Immunity
4. Acquisition of knowledge of the pathogenetic mechanisms of immunopathologies (clinical characteristics and therapeutic treatments of immunopathologies).
Examination Methods
The examination is composed of a written test aimed at assessing the knowledge of course contents of the course. The written test is based on a test comprising multiple related to the topics included in the program of course.
Evaluation criteria
The written test assess thelevel of knowledgeof theoreticalcontentand logical/deductive capacity. The final evaluation is considered positive for scores equal to or greater than 18/30.
