Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
L'obbiettivo del corso è introdurre lo studente alle problematiche relative alla progettazione ed utilizzo dei sistemi informativi per la gestione di informazioni multimediali. Viene fornito allo studente un completamento degli aspetti tecnologici e metodologici inerenti i sistemi di basi di dati, specificatamente orientato alla gestione dei dati multimediali.

* Informazioni multimediali. Caratteristiche fondamentali delle informazioni multimediali. Acquisizione dei dati multimediali. Memorizzazione ed accesso ai dati multimediali.
* Basi di dati orientate agli oggetti.Concetti fondamentali delle basi di dati orientate agli oggetti; modelli dei dati. Linguaggi di interrogazione. Lo standard ODMG.
* Progettazione di basi di dati multimediali. La metodologia di progettazione ad oggetti UML. Esempi di progettazione di sistemi di gestione di dati multimediali.
* Linguaggi di interrogazione per dati multimediali. Tipologie di linguaggi di interrogazione. Esempi d'uso
* Dati semistrutturati e presentazioni multimediali. Modelli dei dati semistrutturati multimediali. Il linguaggio SMIL: esempi di applicazione.
