Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to present the students some advanced concepts on the analysis of linear, time invariant, dynamical systems. In particular some detailed analysis will be carried out on observability and controllability. Some concept on the stability analysis of non linear systems will be also developed. If time allows, some concept of state estimation will be presented.\, including probablistic estimation, optimal estimation and the basic concepts of Kalman filtering.
Program
* Introduction to the course and state models
* Structure of linear dynamical system
* Mode analysis
* Stability Analysis
* Reachability and Observability
* State feedback and eigenvalue allocation
* State Observability and estimation
* Probabilistic estimation and optimal estimation
* Kalman filter
Examination Methods
The final test will consist of a written exam and a project. The exam will include theoretical questions and exercises and the topics presented during the lectures. The project will consist of an in depth study of an advanced topic selected by the student.
