Learning outcomes

a) the knowledge of the history of Europe in the mediaeval Millennium;
b) competence in the interpretation and in the analysis of the historical settings in which the students live, also in connection with their specific profession of educator;
c) in the meantime students are directed to improve the methods of historical research guided by the teacher, through the study of the specific case: The Origins of the abbey of St. Benedict at Polirone, interdisciplinary approach.

Program

a) the history of Europe in the mediaeval Millennium with the study of the handbook: P. GOLINELLI, Breve storia dell’Europa medievale, Bologna, Pàtron, 2001, explained during lessons.

b) MAIN COURSE:
The Origins of the Abbey of St. Benedict at Polirone: Archeology, Environment, History and Art

to prepare with notes from the lessons, and the study of the medieval sources introduced to the students during lessons (also available in the Copy Shop “La Rapida”), and the book:
