Learning outcomes
basic knowledge of the Assyro-Babylonian grammar, basic linguistic competence for reading and interpreting simple documents; introduction to the study of the epigraphic heritage of the Near East and related problems.
Program
Prerequisites: general historical and linguistic competence
Course content: a) the Assyro-Babylonian language: elements of phonetics, morphology and syntax; b) archives, libraries, scribal culture in the ancient Near East; features and function of administrative and epistolary texts.
Teaching methods: lectures, guided analysis of documents in Assyro-babylonian language.
Attendance is strongly recommended and students unable to attend are invited to consult the teacher for defining the program.
Examination Methods
Oral interview
