The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. The course will provide students the basic methods and tools of statistics and statistical inference, as well as statistical sofware for data analysis.

Program

Basic concepts of statistics.
Estimation problem: defintion and main components.
Identification techniques: least squares, minimum variance, maximum likelihoo, maximum a posteriori, Bayes estimation.
Linear models: definition, estimation under the assumption of normally distributed errors.
Chosing among different models: F-test, cross-validation, indexes (AIC e FPE)
Fundamentals of time series analysis.
Stochastic processes: definition, stationarity, frequency representation.
Linear autoregressive models: definition, estimation, frequency.
