The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes

to learn some of the methods and instruments of the historic-religious research, to develop the ability to analyse sources and historiography detecting the complexity of the historical problems.

Program

Prerequisites: knowledge, even elementary, of classical Latin, basic knowledge of Medieval history from IV to XV century.

Content of the course:
The Church and the women in the Christian Occident (ancient and medieval age). During the course a wide range of documents (documentary, literary, hagiographic, iconographic sources) of the very problematic and sometimes ambiguous relationship between Christian religion and women from the ancient age to the late medieval age will be provided.
