Period

Sem. IIA dal Feb 25, 2013 al Apr 21, 2013.

Learning outcomes

Through various teaching methods (lectures, tutorials, ethnographic interviews, meetings with experts, videos) the course aims to introduce students to ethnographic research in anthropology, understood both as field research (fieldwork) and as visual-textual restitution of human and research experiences.

Program

The course critically explores ethnographic research practices: the concept of "field", the ethnographic encounter, the paradox of participant observation, the ethnographic interview, positioning oneself as an anthropologist, the sharing of a context with our interlocutors, the ethical problems posed by the construction of anthropological knowledge and textual-visual translation of the material collected in the field.
