Learning outcomes

At the end of the course students will be able to communicate personal information in Catalan in everyday situations to third parties in a direct or indirect form, using present, past and future verbs. Students will be able to describe the surroundings and to express personal aspects using oral and written phrases (A2 of the Common European Framework Reference for Languages). Besides, the student will achieve a general knowledge of the Contemporary Catalan culture: literature, cinema, art.
The course offers a theoretical and practical study of Catalan, both from a historical point of view and from purely linguistic perspective. The study of grammar (phonetics, morphology, syntax) is seen as means to develop the capacity of understanding (written and oral forms) and expression (written and oral). In order to improve analytical and critical reflection on language, the theoretical and methodological lessons are complemented by practical activities.

Program
