Learning outcomes

The course aims at analysing both the traditional thematic areas of labour law: trade union law and labour law in the strict sense. After a historical reconstruction of the entire discipline, the analysis will introduce to the multi-layered system of sources of labour law. In this regard, particular attention will be given not only to legislative sources, but also to the sources of the so called collective autonomy, to «collective agreements» and to the system of concertation between the social partners. The first part of the course will focus on the legal framework concerning the employment contract and on the relationship between labour law and the market; the second part will deal with the collective aspects of the employment relationship.
