Biological and physical sciences (2014/2015)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
Module: BIOCHIMICA
-------
Biochemistry is focused on the study of the chemistry of life. Although it overlaps other disciplines, including cell biology, genetics, pharmacology and physiology, biochemistry is largely concerned with the following issues: importance of the three dimensional structure of proteins and biological molecules. Interaction between biological molecules. How energy is conserved and used in the cell. Mechanisms that regulate the activities of biological molecules. Furthermore, an overview of the metabolism associated to specific organs like brain, liver, muscle is discussed.
Module: FISICA APPLICATA
-------
Familiarization with the basic concepts of mechanics and fluidodynamics.
Module: GENETICA MEDICA
-------
