Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The course aims at illustrating
– the main geographical varieties of Spanish;
– some basic concepts: linguistic variation, linguistic norm, dialect, etc.;
– the methods of traditional and perceptual dialectology.

Al final del curso el estudiante deberá:
– conocer las principales variedades diatópicas del español;
– comprender algunas nociones básicas: variación lingüística, norma lingüística, dialecto, adstrato, sustrato, indigenismo, pidgin, lenguas criollas, etc.
– conocer y saber comparar los métodos de la dialectología tradicional y la dialectología perceptiva.
Program
The aim of the module is to introduce students to the analysis of some important aspects of Spanish linguistics. The focus will be on diatopic variation in Spanish language in Europe (Spain) and America.

El curso pretende ofrecer una aproximación al estudio de la variación lingüística del español, especialmente diatópica.
Temario:
1. Algunas nociones básicas: variación lingüística (diacrónica, diatópica, diastrática, diafásica); norma lingüística; lengua y dialecto; pidgin y lenguas criollas, etc.

Examination Methods
Written exam (in Spanish) on theoretical and practical questions related to the course program and the bibliography. Both the formulation of the questions and the answers will be made in writing and in Spanish. The test consists of open-ended questions. For students who do not attend class, the program and the form of evaluation are the same.

El examen consiste en una prueba escrita sobre cuestiones teóricas y prácticas relativas al programa del curso, la bibliografía de lectura obligada y los materiales didácticos proporcionados. La prueba se compone de preguntas abiertas y textos redactados en una o más de las variedades examinadas durante il curso, que el estudiante deberá analizar. Para los alumnos que no asisten a clase, el programa y la forma de evaluación son los mismos.
Los estudiantes que asisten regularmente a clase podrán preparar (y exponer oralmente, durante el curso) un trabajo sobre un aspecto relacionado con el temario de la asignatura.

Le attività di stage sono finalizzate a far acquisire allo studente una conoscenza diretta in settori di particolare interesse per l’inserimento nel mondo del lavoro e per l’acquisizione di abilità professionali specifiche.
Le attività di stage sono svolte sotto la diretta responsabilità di un singolo docente presso studi professionali, enti della pubblica amministrazione, aziende accreditate dall’Ateneo veronese.
I crediti maturati in seguito ad attività di stage saranno attribuiti secondo quanto disposto nel dettaglio dal “Regolamento d’Ateneo per il riconoscimento dei crediti maturati negli stage universitari” vigente.
