Learning outcomes

L’insegnamento si compone dei moduli di assistenza ostetrica generale, ginecologia e ostetrici preventiva e farmacologia generale.

Modulo Assistenza ostetrica generale: L’insegnamento si propone di fornire allo studente le basi culturali necessarie per garantire assistenza alla donna/coppia durante la gravidanza fisiologica. In particolare, al termine del modulo, lo Studente sarà in grado di:
- conoscere e discutere le evidenze scientifiche di riferimento in merito all’organizzazione e alla gestione clinica della gravidanza fisiologica
- descrivere, confrontare e spiegare le diverse tipologie di canale da parto e le relative caratteristiche;
- conoscere, illustrare e mostrare come applicare le manovre di Leopold
- spiegare e discutere la fisiologia della lattazione e le differenze nella composizione tra colostro, latte materno e latte artificiale.

Modulo Ginecologia e ostetricia preventiva: Il corso si propone di fornire allo Studente le conoscenze di base sull’anatomia funzionale dell’apparato riproduttivo, femminile e maschile. Vengono trattati la conoscenza della maturazione puberale e della funzione endocrino-riproduttiva, nella donna e nell’uomo, oltre agli aspetti relativi alla fecondazione, all’annidamento ed alla placentazione. Il corso include elementi di prevenzione in ambito ostetrico-ginecologico.

Modulo Farmacologia generale: Lo studente sarà guidato ad acquisire le conoscenze generali relative alla farmacologia generale, in particolare a farmacodinamica, farmacocinetica e le fasi della sperimentazione. Al termine del modulo lo Studente sarà in grado di comprendere il significato di interazione farmacologica, le basi della generazione di effetti terapeutici e indesiderati; potrà inoltre comprendere le differenze funzionali delle diverse preparazioni di un farmaco, i principali concetti farmacocinetici e le implicazioni per il piano terapeutico con particolare riferimento ad alcune classi di farmaci di interesse generale in ambito ostetrico.

The male genital tract: penis, testis, seminal vesicles, prostate, urethra. Development of the reproductive-sexual function: from fetal life to childhood and puberty. Female and male endocrine-reproductive functions: the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadic axis. Pharmacodynamics: drug-recepto interaction, drug affinity, efficacy, slope. Generation of effects and the concepts of agonism and antagonism; toxic effects and drug adverse reactions Receptor response modulation: desensitization and allosteric modulation including clinical and functional aspects of drugs active of GABAA receptors and blockers of the neuromuscular junction. Principles of action of some antiinflammatory drugs Operational definitions: LD, TD, ED; therapeutic index. Drug development, phases of clinical studies and monitoring Pharmacokinetics: general rules, diffusion through cell membranes and barriers including placenta. MM: ASSISTENZA OSTETRICA GENERALE

The exam includes a written part (resolution of a clinical case) and an oral interview. In particular, the purpose of this exam is to evaluate the students' acquired knowledge and argumentative capacity; the ability to resolve small clinical scenarios using evidence-based knowledge; language skills. To pass the exam you will need to get sufficient evaluation in both parts; the score obtained will be calculated through the weighted average of written and oral exam; the praise will be assigned to the students who will have obtained maximum score in the written test and will have demonstrated completeness and in-depth analysis and judgment skill during the oral exam.
