Learning outcomes

Provide the basic knowledge, theoretical and practical, for the creation of a database with Microsoft
Access and process data with Microsoft Excel.

Program

Difference between information systems and computer systems.
Models of conceptual design:
- Database, DBMS (DataBase Management System)
- Entities
- Associations
- Cardinality (one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-many)
- E-R diagram (Entity-Relationship)
- Relationships
Practical exercises in the laboratory with the use of Microsoft Access and Excel.

Examination Methods

The exam is divided into two parts:
1. multiple choice test;
2. creation of a database with Access and a spreadsheet (calculations, graphs, etc.) with Excel.
