Learning outcomes

The course aims to illustrate the activity of the radio-television journalist through an adequate knowledge of the rules, tools, language and methodologies typical of the information of television and radio media.

Program

Course content: The right to information and criticism in radio and television. Distinction between journalist of national networks and local broadcasters. The construction of the news in its different "formats": from recognition to development and transposition in radio and television. How to write the "talking news" and how to make a synthesis of the essential elements of the content. The fundamental techniques for the interview. Sound as a priority element of communication. The origin of the newscast from the morning briefing to the transmission of the main news, with particular attention to the criteria of choice, to the order and the extent of the services, to the titles. The development of news during the day and the methodologies that refer to the various sectors: chronical, shows, economics, sport, politics. The techniques for creating weekly "magazines", analyzes, specrams, talk show and documentaries. Historical notes on the birth of private broadcasting.
