Learning outcomes

The Teaching Laboratory “The Fashion LAB” is composed of series of specialised seminars focused on the fashion industry and its implications in various subject matters (law, economics, technological sciences), which aim at equipping the participants with a wide range of skills and knowledge required for future career paths in the sector at issue.
The seminars are held by the professors of the University of Verona who make up the teaching staff of the Laboratory, and further envisage the participation of external experts with a view to deepening the specific topics that are dealt with in each seminar.

The seminars are targeted to students of the University of Verona, currently enrolled in different Degree programmes, and in particular they have been accredited for:
- third-year students of the Bachelor’s degree in LEGAL STUDIES, fourth/fifth-year students of the Combined Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in LAW and all students of the Master’s degree in EMERGENCY GOVERNANCE, who can choose to attend either the whole series of seminars (36 hours, 3 ECTS), or only some of the seminars for a total of 24 hours (2 ECTS) or 12 hours (1 ECTS);
- third-year students of the Bachelor’s degrees and all students of the Master’s degrees of the SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT, who can choose to attend either the whole series of seminars (36 hours, 3 ECTS), or only some of the seminars for a total of 24 hours (2 ECTS) or 12 hours (1 ECTS);
- third-year students of the Bachelor’s degree in LANGUAGES AND CULTURES FOR TOURISM AND INTERNATIONAL COMMERCE and all students of the Master’s degree in LANGUAGES FOR COMMUNICATION IN TOURISM AND COMMERCE, who can attend some of the seminars, at their own choice, for a total of 24 hours (2 ECTS);
- third-year students of the Bachelor’s degrees and all students of the Master’s degrees of the COMPUTER SCIENCE TEACHING BOARD, who can attend some of the seminars, at their own choice, for a total of 12 hours (1 ECTS).

Program

The seminars are scheduled on the basis of a programme that takes into account topics selected by the Teaching Staff members in accordance with the respective competences, which is the core activity of the Laboratory.

Among the selected topics in the legal field:

the fashion industry in the EU internal market,
competition law,
transport law and logistics,
tax law,
criminal law.

In the business administration/economics field:

marketing and management in the fashion industry,
supply chain management and consumers’ behaviour,
public, private and collective fundraising mechanisms (e.g. crowdfunding),
the fashion industry in the local and regional economic system.

In the computer science field:

the technological innovation in the fashion industry.

Seminars will be held in Italian.

Examination Methods

In order to enrol in the activity, a registration on Esse3 system is required (the student shall choose “The Fashion LAB” among the optional activities).

For the accreditation of the ECTS, a written paper on the contents of the attended seminars is required.

Participants are kindly reminded to sign the attendance registers at the beginning and at the end of each seminar.
