Learning outcomes
The aims of this course are to learn main characteristics about tuberculosis:
a) worldwide, national, local prevalence and incidence
b) pathogenesis and clinical features of pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis
c) diagnostic techniques (serology, microbiology, radiology…)
d) antitubercular agents (first-line, second-line, third-line drugs), dosage, side effects, resistant-strains therapy (MDR, XDR), DOT
e) surveillance and prevention
