The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
The course includes four discipline modules: Clinical Pharmacology, Nursing, Dietary Sciences, Diagnostic Imaging and Radioprotection, which are integrated to allow the achievement of the objective of a deep theoretical and practical knowledge of the main diagnostic and therapeutic processes that characterize, in general, nursing care. This course is based on the principles of safety and effectiveness of care to achieve health outcomes or a state of balance of the patient and to evaluate the progress of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The approach considers the methods of application of the prescribed diagnostic and therapeutic processes as well as the strategies for monitoring the effects.

MM: SCIENZE DIETETICHE

Nutritional requirements in healthy subjects, recommended daily intake levels in the population (LARN). Physiology of gastrointestinal absorption of the main nutrients and water. Food supplements. Artificial nutrition and nutritional mixtures Nutritional approach to the person with obesity, malnutrition and cachexia. The diet of the person with cardio-vascular problems and liver disorders: examples of diets.

MM: FARMACOLOGIA CLINICA

At the end of the Course, the student should know the most important characteristics, the main indications, the mechanism of action, the pharmacokinetics, the contraindications, the cautions, the problems related to the management of the therapy, the most common and serious adverse reactions of each of the following therapeutic classes: - Glucocorticoids - Respiratory drugs: antiasthmatics, cough suppressants, mucolytics - Gastrointestinal drugs: antisecretives and antiacids, prokinetics, antiemetics, laxatives - Cardiovascular drugs: antihypertensives (diuretics, ACE inhibitors and sartans, beta blockers, ,Calcium channel blockers), digitalis, antiarrhythmics, Antihypertensives, antianginals, diuretics, cholesterol lowering agents, Anticoagulants, Antiplatelet agents (the following categories also include Calcium channel blockers, beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, sartans and statins) - Antithrombotic agents: anticoagulants, antiaggregants, thrombolytics - CNS Drugs: opioid analgesics, anxiolytic/sedative-hypnotics (benzodiazepines), antidepressants.

Syllabus Safe therapies giving: oral, parenteral, meals and nutriment associated therapy: empty or full stomach, managing drugs during perioperative period and diagnostic investigation. Drug’s shattering and pulverizing (no-eating patient with gastro-nasal probe) Infusional and oral therapy’s calculation exercise. Peripheral and central vascular catheter management, main complication (occlusion, inflammation, infiltration) Venous and arteriosus blood sample, radial artery’s. emogasanalisys, capillary blood sample. Emoculture sample, faeces’s sample, complete urine examination and sheltering Preparation and post examination caring for colon and bronchial tubes examination, in contrast means required examination. Nutrition recovery after particular examinations (colon and stomach) Taking care of a disphagic patient, enteral feeding, using gastro-nasal probe, total parenteral nutrition and PEG.
