Learning outcomes
Conoscenza del ruolo dell’informatica nelle strutture sanitarie e dei suoi utilizzi ai fini descrittivi e riepilogativi, gestionali, di sanità pubblica, di sorveglianza e di valutazione epidemiologica. Apprendimento dell’utilizzo del programma Microsoft Office, in particolare di Excel per l’analisi dei dati, di Word per la creazione di un Indice/Sommario e per la Stampa unione, di PowerPoint per la presentazione sintetica di dati (tabelle e grafici) e di studi di ricerca.
Program
The database: data cleaning and preparation of the working data file. Criteria for processing, representation and dissemination of health data. Synthetic representations of data: frequency distributions, graphs, indices of centrality and variability. Practical exercises using Microsoft Excel.
Using Microsoft Word to format a text file. Practical exercises on creating a Table of Contents in Word and the Union Printing tool.
The help of PowerPoint to present data and research studies.
Illustration of current health informative flows and their IT management (focus on examples of current informative flows). Integrated use of health informative flows and health datasets. Examples of literature and applications in the Provincial Health Services Agency.
Individual work on the calculation of indicators from a population database (demo.istat.it).
Examination Methods
The course exam consists in the resolution of two / three practical exercises at the PC, one with the use of Microsoft Excel, the other/s with PowerPoint and/or Word.
