Program
Course title:
Sex and violence in racist domination: Frantz Fanon
Course content:
1. Firstly, the course will investigate the origin of the main modern political doctrines (absolutism, liberalism, democracy, and socialism) in the social contract theory.
2. Secondly, through Frantz Fanon and Angela Davis, the course will analyze how the point of view of racialized and sexed subjects allows a radical critique of modern political thought and its ontological foundation: the individual.
Methods:
Lectures based on reading and interpretation of the texts and discussions.
