Learning outcomes
The aims of this course are
1. learn to recognize and
2. manage the main toxicological emergencies, correctly identifying the severity and prognostic factors through the analysis of the main instrumental and laboratory tests. These objectives will be pursued through the analysis and management, by the student, of simulated clinical cases also with the use of “virtual patients”, in order to stimulate a correct diagnostic and therapeutic management. On the other hand, NBCR emergencies will be dealt with, particularly regarding to the management of the emergencies related to accidental or terrorism events. Also in this case, simulated clinical cases will be used.

Introduction to Clinical Toxicology: approaching the intoxicated patient, laboratory, decontamination, antidotes.
Emergency Toxicology: resuscitation and therapy in drugs, animals, plants, metals and new psychoactive substances poisoning.
