The course aims to investigate the pathophysiological, clinical and caring aspects of different types of emergency situations either in hospital, home and community setting. This course will focus on risk assessment and identification of patient’s complexity and intervention priorities.

Diagnostic and therapeutic approach to patients with chest pain. Diagnostic and therapeutic approach to patients with pulmonary embolism, pulmonary oedema, metabolic coma, diabetic coma, intoxication and poisoning.

MM: INFERMIERISTICA CHIRURGICA SPECIALISTICA

Educational and rehabilitative care approach to the patient operated on in cardiac, thoracic and stomach esophagus surgery. Care approach to the patient operated on in thoracic and cardiac surgery and esophagostomach .. Preoperative phase. Main surgical interventions. Notes on the intraoperative phase. Post-operative and rehabilitation phase. The cardio-thoracic patient operated on day zero: head and foot examination and management of aids. Monitoring. Drugs in infusion and pharmacological compatibility. Notes on any hemodynamic support devices I(intra aortic ballon pump - IAPB- and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation - ECMO). Post-operative phase; complications and care problems. Education and rehabilitation. Anticoagulant therapy Management of the patient with blood transfusion. Transfusion of blood and blood components: purposes, patient management during the various phases. Collaboration between nurse and doctor. Adverse reactions. Management of chest drainage. The drainage system with water valve. Thoracentesis.

Principles and methods of the emergency system of the 118 Operational Center and of the Emergency / Urgency Departments (lecture) Evaluation of the patient in peri-arrest and cardiac arrest, using the ABCDE / ABC method (lectures and case studies) Triage: principles, application criteria and assignment of appropriate color codes, to define emergency priorities according to the Drg n.1888 of 2015 and n.1035 of 27/8/2019. Triage to the patient with cognitive impairment of various degrees (frontal lectures and clinical cases) Emotional reactions of patients and principles of relationship / communication with the patient (frontal lecture) Primary secondary (primary and secondary survey) evaluation of the patient traumatized in emergency, (frontal lesson with connected laboratory of first aid techniques) Wounds and tampering maneuvers of external bleeding and wound dressing (frontal lecture) Situations of first intervention for the patient burned, drowned, insect-prone, syncopated patient or with seizure in progress, patient with exposed fracture of the limbs (frontal lecture)
