AGR/01 - AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND RURAL APPRAISAL

Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to develop an in-depth knowledge of the structure of theCommon agricultural and wine-growing policies and of its reflections on the Italian national policy. The objective is to analyze the tools used to balance supply, increase the quality of wine production and develop competitiveness.Expenditure budgets will be analyzed, both in historical terms and in the analysis of current programming.The role of protection will be addressed analyzing the objectives of trade agreements.

The Common Agricultural Policy: history, objectives and evolutions
The wine policy 2014-2020: Opportunities and constraints for viticultural chain?

The National Support Programme: structure and implementation
Supply control tools; quality support measures; competitiveness support measures
Scenarios of international agreements and new management tools of international sales networks

Examination Methods

The aim is to evaluate the student's knowledge of agricultural and wine policy instruments implemented in European Union and Italy. The exam will be written to open questions regarding the topics addressed during the lectures. Final evaluation will be expressed in thirtieths. The exam method will be the same for attending and non-attending students. During the examination the use of any teaching material will not be allowed.
