Learning outcomes

Conoscere il campo di studio della pedagogia speciale, il suo linguaggio specifico, i riferimenti teorici e metodologici fondamentali e i maggiori documenti internazionali in materia di disabilità. Conoscere le caratteristiche dell’azione educativa speciale e come si progetta un intervento educativo speciale, sapendo distinguere tra differenti tipologie di disabilità e diverse forme di bisogno educativo speciale. Conoscere i paradigmi scientifici di riferimento della ricerca pedagogico-speciale. Saper agire in modo conforme al profilo professionale dell'educatore nei contesti che erogano servizi educativi alle persone con disabilità. Essere in grado di reperire fonti pertinenti ed efficaci rispetto ai problemi educativi delle persone con disabilità e sapere progettare interventi educativi idonei a rispondere alle loro necessità educative speciali. Saper mettere in atto le modalità d’approccio, di tipo educativo, idonee e funzionali alle differenti tipologie di disabilità e alle diverse forme di bisogno educativo speciale.

2) Deficit, handicap and disability: definition, meaning, differences, and problems.
3) Special Educational Needs: educational viewpoint in the treatment of disabilities.
4) Problems and paradigms of special educational research.
5) The main documents relating to disability issued by WHO, UNESCO, UNO and the European Parliament.
6) The action in Special Education.
7) From the concept of Integration to that of Inclusive Education.
8) Life Planning and Growth Planning of people with disabilities (emotional development and sexual, job placement, social inclusion, etc.);
9) Prejudice and disability.

The teaching methods provided are the following:
- Distance lessons (video recordings via Panopto and online lessons via zoom);
- Video presentation and comment.
During the course, many experiences will be presented to the students as well as testimonies of special educational practice in the school, in the associations, and in the institutions of the territory

Examination Methods

The assessment for learning will take place through a written examination paper that will consist of presenting a series of closed questions and open questions concerning the topics discussed during the course.
Written exam: 24 multiple choice questions and/or open regarding the basic references and 2 open questions regarding the chosen textbooks or chapters.
The following assessment criteria will be considered:
- Including the relevant elements that are the basis of the main theories relating to special education;
- Including the elements that characterize special education action;
- Being able to expose their arguments strictly and in a limited time by identifying and selecting the essential elements for exposure;
- Being able to analyse critically the books studied.

Stage e Tirocini

Le ulteriori attività formative (crediti F) sono interamente coperte dall’attività di tirocinio “indiretto” (1 cfu) da svolgersi nel secondo anno e di tirocinio “diretto” (14 cfu) da svolgersi presso enti convenzionati per un numero complessivo di 15 cfu (375 ore). Chi è iscritta/o al curriculum servizi per l’infanzia è tenuta/o a svolgere il tirocinio presso nidi e servizi per la prima infanzia per almeno il 50% delle ore.
Il tirocinio professionalizzante (375 ore, pari a 15 cfu), è obbligatorio sia nella sua forma diretta che indiretta.
Il tirocinio indiretto, della durata di 25 ore a frequenza obbligatoria al 75%, si svolge in Università per 20 ore e in forma di lavoro individuale per 5 ore e consiste in un accompagnamento iniziale delle/degli studenti da parte dei tutor attraverso un percorso formativo dotandoli di conoscenze e strumenti adeguati a osservare, comprendere e rielaborare criticamente l’esperienza di tirocinio nei servizi educativi e ad affrontare il tirocinio negli enti con metodo e consapevolezza. Il percorso, da attuare in gruppi da 20-25 persone sotto la supervisione di un tutor, risponde alle esigenze costantemente espresse sia dalle/dagli studenti stessi sia dalle parti sociali che dai referenti degli enti convenzionati.
Il tirocinio diretto si propone di raggiungere i seguenti obiettivi:

  • fare esperienza diretta di attività professionali, che richiedono un livello di preparazione al lavoro educativo;
  • approfondire in particolare il rapporto tra preparazione teorica, acquisita mediante lo studio, ed esperienza pratica, tra mondo del sapere e della cultura e mondo del lavoro e delle professioni;

Al termine del tirocinio diretto lo studente deve presentare una relazione scritta, nella modalità concordata con il tutor accademico.
