Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The course has a dual purpose: first of all, to make students acquire a rigorous scientific language based on deductive logical-mathematical reasoning; in addition, the course aims to provide students with some analytical tools and basic mathematical models to deal quantitatively with the treatment of economic and business problems. In particular, the foundations of differential and integral calculus, optimization and linear algebra will be provided, which constitute effective tools for analyzing economic and business phenomena. At the end of the lessons the student will have to demonstrate that she has developed the aptitude to face mathematical problems with reasoning and the ability to use, in the application contexts, the appropriate methods, tools and mathematical models. The traditional lectures, dedicated to the more general and theoretical aspects of the discipline, but not without applicative references, are accompanied by hours of exercises, aimed exclusively at solving computational problems and applying them. The students also find in the E-learning pages of the course, as the lessons progress, learning verification tests on the various topics covered.

Teaching supply
The course consists of 48 hour lectures (equivalent to 6 credits), devoted mainly to the theoretical and general aspects, and 36 hour exercise lectures (equivalent to 3 credits), dedicated to the solution of computational problems. Both lessons and exercises are in Italian.
In the web page of the course students may find the teacher's lecture notes, the exercise lectures with the relative solutions and all the exams proposed in the previous exam sessions. In the e-learning pages students may test their skill. The students showing good results in the tests have a 1-2 point bonus in their final mark. The whole teaching material is in Italian.
During the lesson semester and before the exam sessions there is a tutoring service (also in Italian), organized by senior students, trained by the teachers.

Examination Methods
In order to pass the exam students are asked to pass first an open answer test. A second written exam is then proposed, with 3 exercises and 5 theoretical questions. A final oral exam is required only in case of a non full sufficiency. All the examination activities are in Italian.
Intermediate test
Students have the possibility, after a half of the course, to pass a partial written exam, that will count for the final passing.
This intermediate test has the same structure as the ordinary written exam.
- It is discretionary and it does not prevent the student from refusing the result and taking the full exam.
- The student that passes the intermediate test may complete the exam by passing a similar final written test. The final score will be the mean of the two. An oral exam may be required again in case of a non full sufficiency.
- The subjects of the intermediate test will be specified in advance in the course web page. These subjects will be kept out the final test.
- Students that pass the intemediate test may take the final test within the winter session.
The intermedate test is scheduled with the intent that students tackle from the beginning the subject matter in a regular and systematic way. So they can get the advantage of passing one half of the exam. The intermediate test, in case of a failure, may also be useful to give important hints on what went wrong.

Type D and Type F activities
Nei piani didattici di ciascun Corso di studio è previsto l’obbligo di conseguire un certo numero di crediti formativi mediante attività a scelta (chiamate anche "di tipologia D e F").
Oltre che in insegnamenti previsti nei piani didattici di altri corsi di studio e in certificazioni linguistiche o informatiche secondo quanto specificato nei regolamenti di ciascun corso, tali attività possono consistere anche in iniziative extracurriculari di contenuto vario, quali ad esempio la partecipazione a un seminario o a un ciclo di seminari, la frequenza di laboratori didattici, lo svolgimento di project work, stage aggiuntivo, eccetera.
Come per ogni altra attività a scelta, è necessario che anche queste non costituiscano un duplicato di conoscenze e competenze già acquisite dallo studente.
Quelle elencate in questa pagina sono le iniziative extracurriculari che sono state approvate dal Consiglio della Scuola di Economia e Management e quindi consentono a chi vi partecipa l'acquisizione dei CFU specificati, alle condizioni riportate nelle pagine di dettaglio di ciascuna iniziativa.
Si ricorda in proposito che:
- tutte queste iniziative richiedono, per l'acquisizione dei relativi CFU, il superamento di una prova di verifica delle competenze acquisite, secondo le indicazioni contenute nella sezione "Modalità d'esame" della singola attività;
- lo studente è tenuto a inserire nel proprio piano degli studi l'attività prescelta e a iscriversi all'appello appositamente creato per la verbalizzazione, la cui data viene stabilita dal docente di riferimento e pubblicata nella sezione "Modalità d'esame" della singola attività.

ATTENZIONE: Per essere ammessi a sostenere una qualsiasi attività didattica, inlcuse quelle a scelta, è necessario essere iscritti all'anno di corso in cui essa viene offerta. Si raccomanda, pertanto, ai laureandi delle sessioni di dicembre e aprile di NON svolgere attività extracurriculari del nuovo anno accademico, cui loro non risultano iscritti, essendo tali sessioni di laurea con validità riferita all'anno accademico precedente. Quindi, per attività svolte in un anno accademico cui non si è iscritti, non si potrà dar luogo a riconoscimento di CFU.
