Magnetic Resonance (2021/2022)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
To learn the physical basis of MR imaging, rules and regulations to use MRI scannes respecting safety for patients examinations. In the course the technological aspects of RM scanners will be shown discussing quality control process. Clinical indications and MR protcols will be presented referring to standard and special techniques. MRI SCAN EQUIPMENT The course aim is to let students know: - x-ray equipment structure - technical and functional connections - artifacts most common causes and reduction methods - medical electrical equipment safety - MR safety elements - MR quality controls MRI IMAGING To learn MR imging anatomy for different districts and organs. Multiparametric imaging aspects willl be presented. Sequences and dedicated study protocol for clinical indications will be discussed by viewing the anatomical aspects of organs in detail. MRI: PHYSICAL PRINCIPLES AND SAFETY The course aims are to: provide an introduction to the physical principles and techniques of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI); introduce methods to control the image quality characteristics; present an overview of the possible interactions of static magnetic fields, time-varying magnetic fields and radiofrequency fields with biological tissue. MRI: ACQUISITION TECHNIQUE AND PROTOCOLS Educate the student on the approach of the new MRI imaging methods and introduce it to the study of the various examination protocols / parameters relating to the different body areas and to the different types of equipment to standardize the procedures and raise the diagnostic quality standard
