Learning objectives
The course provides students with concepts and tools for understanding a particular area of constitutional law: the judiciary. Students will be able to analyze and interpret the norms contained within Title IV, Part Il of the Constitution, and begin to develop autonomy towards interpreting and critically reflecting upon various aspects of the Italian judicial system.

The following subjects will be covered during the course:
- introductory notions: jurisdictions and judges
- Ordinary courts: organization and functions
- Special courts: typology and functions
- The judicial system
- Guarantees of independence and autonomy, and the concept of impartiality
- The C.S.M. (The Superior Council of the Judiciary)
- The judiciary and other state powers
- The due process of law

Learning assessment procedures
The test is held in oral form and covers the entire exam program.
Evaluation criteria
The exam is aimed at ascertaining, in addition to acquiring the required knowledge, that students have acquired sufficient analytical skills. In particular, the test is aimed at verifying:
- the depth and breadth of the acquired knowledge
- the property of language
- the ability to connect knowledge in a systematic form;
- analytical and argumentative ability
