Learning objectives

This course intends to provide students with the competencies to analyze the context of public ser-vices in Italy, with a particular focus on public utilities. In addition, the course aims to develop in stu-dents critical understanding of the role of public vs. private actors in public service management. Moreover, the course will offer some managerial tools to improve service quality according to a cus-tomer-oriented approach. In order to encourage students’ learning ability, real-life case studies will be presented and discussed.

The concept of public service; local public services between regulation and competition 3. the production chains of the main services: gas, electricity, water services, environmental services, health (outline) 4. Didactic methods
