Period
I semestre (Lingue e letterature straniere) dal Sep 26, 2022 al Dec 23, 2022.
Learning objectives
By analyzing specific issues of the History of theatre, we intend to introduce the student to the theoretical and methodological tools offered by the representative medium with particular regard to the field of communication and to the comparison between different theatrical traditions. At the end of the course students will be able to contestualise, comprehend and examine on their own all of the coefficients proposed by a prose show.
Prerequisites and basic notions
None.
Program
In this course we intend to investigate how the gesture of the traditional Italian actor was fixed and transmitted in the second half of the twentieth century, not only by the writings of his contemporaries, but also by cinema, television, or the new means of digital communication. To this end, some famous dramaturgies, both by Italian and foreign authors, staged by prominent theater directors on the Italian or European scene, will be related to the productions that immortalize the performances of some famous actors: Eleonora Duse, Vittorio Gassman, Rossella Falk, Alberto Lionello, Dario Fo and Franca Rame, Giulia Lazzarini, Marcello Lippi, Virgilio Zernitz, Ken Ponzio, Sandro Lombardi and Sabina Guzzanti. The chronological period considered begins with the possibility of finding at least one recording of the pieces taken into consideration and ends at the end of the twentieth century.
