Learning objectives
The course will show the student how computational genomics (use of computers, production and analysis of big data) increasingly represents an area of interest for basic research involved in the study of the association of the genetic factor with the complex traits.
Prerequisites and basic notions
To successfully follow the course, basic knowledge of the fundamentals of biology and formal genetics is required.
Program
- Bioinformatics tools for the analysis of genomic data
- International projects for the study of the genetic factor
Didactic methods
The methods adopted for teaching consist of lectures with interaction with students aimed at transmitting the knowledge required by the program on the relevant topics, with in-depth lessons aimed at achieving the objectives of the course.
Learning assessment procedures
The student must attend at least 70% of the hours of the course. The course is held in the classroom of the Biology and Genetics section (Block B, top floor) from 2.30 to 4.30 pm on the following days: 28 February, 7, 14, 21 and 28 March.
