Learning objectives
The aim of the course is to understand the responsibilities of the Radiographer, respect for ethics and professional ethics, prevention, protection and management of health in the workplace as well as the main methods of research and analysis of scientific literature. DEONTOLOGY AND REGULATION OF PROFESSIONAL EXERCISE At the end of the course the student must be able to understand and apply behaviors in practice in the respect of ethics and professional ethics. must know the main regulations concerning the responsability of the TSRM, must know the code of deontology of 2004 LEGAL MEDICINE AND BIOETHICS Acquisition of basic skills in Forensic Medicine, with reference to essentialia in the areas of Professional Ethics and Responsibility Health Professional, as well as in the expert's activities for identification purposes. EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE OF RADIOLOGY This course will give to the future radiographer an overview of the tools to find and critically evaluate the scientific literature. The student will learn how to query online databases and how to apply to the clinical and research activity the latest findings and guidelines published by the scientific and medical communities. OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH To acquire basic knowledge and understanding on health and safety prevention and health promotion and management in workplaces. To acquire, through field examples, knowledge and understanding about general principles of occupational health, risk assessment, health surveillance, fitness for work, legislation, with reference to different risk factors (e.g., chemicals, physical agents, biohazards, ergonomics, organization and psychosocial factors, injuries) and focussing on medical radioprotection.. Attention will be dedicated to let the student acquire knowledge and understanding about the roles of the different professionals and institutions committed to prevention. The student will acquire knowledge and awareness on the main risk factors, adverse effects and their prevention in the professional activities of radiology technician.
