Learning objectives

Acquire knowledge on health promotion with a specific focus on the role played by motor activities. Deepen the concept of risk in relation to the development of infectious diseases (connected to sporting activity) and chronic degenerative diseases with a specific focus on prevention and the skills related to Sports Science. Acquire knowledge on the organizational model of the National Health Service and on the interaction with sports science professionals in this area

Prerequisites and basic notions

Essential preparatory knowledge:
Biology notions specifically referred to the morphological and functional differences between viruses, bacteria and eukaryotes, including protists

1. Introduction to Hygiene: definitions and public health tools 2. Prevention and health promotion: foundations and methods
3. Health determinants and social inequalities in health care: definitions and reference models
4. Risk prevention infectious diseases: epidemiological aspects
5. The prevention of infectious risks: the methodologies of prevention and vaccinations
6. Hygiene of sports and sports facilities
7. Multifactorial concept of risk. Insight into the role of motor activities in the prevention of chronic-degenerative diseases 8. Cardiovascular and tumor prevention
9. Organization of the National Health Service
