The course aims to present the literary production of the most representative authors of the early 20th century through the reading of selected texts. The historical, critical and literary aspects of this period will be investigated through the analysis of the texts. At the end of the course students will have to show a deep knowledge of the topics dealt with during the course, regarding both the historical-literary period and the works in original language; furthermore they will have to be able to analyze and understand the texts in the programme and to show the abilities developed during the course through a suitable competence in German.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES The course aims to introduce the literary work of the most representative Austrian authors of the early twentieth century through the reading of a selection of canonical texts. The historical and literary-critical aspects will be studied through the analysis and commentary of the texts in the programme. At the end of the course, the student will have to demonstrate that he has in-depth knowledge of the proposed topics, he will also have to demonstrate that he is able to analyze and understand the texts in the program and to exhibit the knowledge gained, with the due property of language, in German . The course is structured in a single module (frontal teaching and seminar) and is held in German. History of literature: - HA Glaser (hg.), Deutsche Literatur. A part of the texts will be made available to students in the form of photocopies. Part of the critical literature will be indicated during the lessons. Additional teaching material will be available on the course's e-learning platform.
Students will also have to read one of the following texts of their choice: - H. v. Hofmannsthal, Ein Brief - Franz Kafka, Der Proceß - Arthur Schnitzler, Frӓulein Else - Joseph Roth, Die Kapuzinergruft - Stefan Zweig, Schachnovelle.
Non-attending students will have the opportunity to arrange a part of the program with the teacher.

Didactic methods

Frontal lessons.
Making up for missed lessons must be agreed from time to time with the teacher.
Non-attending students will have the opportunity to agree on a part of the program with the teacher.

Learning assessment procedures

The exam is oral and takes place in German. The single oral test concerns the entire program and consists of an interview aimed at verifying: - the depth and breadth of the knowledge acquired - the ability to analyze and understand the literary texts in the program - the argumentative capacity and the ability to connect knowledge in a historical-cultural and critical-literary reflection - the ability to express the related topics in German. The final evaluation is expressed in 30ths. ERASMUS students are requested to contact the teacher at the beginning of the course to agree on the exam methods together. The exam methods for non-attending students are the same; non-attending students are however requested to contact the teacher.

Evaluation criteria

The vote is expressed in thirtieths.

Il numero di CFU D va calcolato complessivamente sull’intero triennio/biennio e non è legato all'annualità.

I CFU F sono solitamente relativi ad abilità informatiche, competenze linguistiche, stage e tirocini e ulteriori attività formative accreditate in questa tipologia dal Collegio Didattico.
Nel corso di laurea in Lingue e Letterature Straniere sono previste le seguenti tipologie:
- 3 CFU per terza lingua (livello B1)
- 3 CFU per informatica.
Le competenze informatiche possono essere acquisite attraverso:
- il superamento della prova pratica presso le aule informatiche di Ateneo,
- la frequenza dei corsi attivati da scuole e centri accreditati dall’AICA (Associazione Italiana per l’Informatica e il Calcolo Automatico) o riconosciuti dalla Provincia e dalla Regione e superamento della relativa prova finale. Le domande per il riconoscimento delle competenze informatiche acquisite precedentemente vengono esaminate dalla Commissione per il riconoscimento delle Competenze Informatiche.

Lo studente ha comunque la possibilità di effettuare esperienze di stage e tirocini che però vengono riconosciuti all’interno dei crediti a scelta libera (CFU D).

Stage e tirocini

Le attività di stage sono finalizzate a far acquisire allo studente una conoscenza diretta in settori di particolare interesse per l’inserimento nel mondo del lavoro e per l’acquisizione di abilità professionali specifiche.
Le attività di stage sono svolte sotto la diretta responsabilità di un singolo docente presso studi professionali, enti della pubblica amministrazione, aziende accreditate dall’Ateneo veronese.
I crediti maturati in seguito ad attività di stage saranno attribuiti secondo quanto disposto nel dettaglio dal “Regolamento d’Ateneo per il riconoscimento dei crediti maturati negli stage universitari” vigente.
