Learning objectives
The course aims to develop students' skills in comprehension and production, both written and oral, of scientific texts. Particular attention will be given to the lexical, syntactic, phonological and pragmatic aspects of medical English.

Program
The course involves the acquisition of the fundamental grammatical, lexical and syntactic functions of the English language, combined with the scientific terminology relevant to your professional practice. In particular, the topics covered will be: 1) English for Nursing - its field of use and its characteristics 2) The professional in the healthcare sector, how the healthcare system and the hospital relate 3) Anatomy and Physiology of the Human Course and its composition. Analysis of the main systems and their functioning 4) nursing process 5) caring principles 6) Symptoms and Signs, Diagnosis, Pain and Treatments 7) Scientific research: introduction to the structure of a scientific article, its purposes and characteristics of the language. 8) In-depth study of Medical Vocabulary, Analysis of Scientific Texts

Lessons, in-depth videos to support the study of the monographic material and the preparation of the reference vocabulary. The frontal lessons provide all the tools for the analysis and discussion of written and oral texts on the main study areas of scientific medical English and academic English, as well as the foundations for mastering linguistic-communicative and pragmatic-linguistic skills. necessary to understand texts in English at B2 level.
Learning assessment procedures
Students' abilities assessment will be measured through a written exam aimed at verifying the knowledge of all the didactic module.
