Learning objectives
The teaching aims to make understand the basic aspects that characterize the radiological environment. Specifically, it addresses in a sequential and thorough way the structure and the various types of fixed and mobile radiological systems, the elements of the electrical safety of medical equipment, the principles of production and evaluation of the radiological image quality and at the same time management, transmission of clinical / diagnostic data in hospital information systems with specific reference to radiological departments. RADIODIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT AND QUALITY CONTROLS The course aim is to let students know: - x-ray equipment structure - technical and functional connections - medical electrical equipment safety - fixed and mobile equipment types PHYSICAL AND GEOMETRICAL PRINCIPLES OF X-RAY IMAGE FORMATION The course aims to help students understand: • the use of x-rays in producing diagnostic images; • geometric factors in Radiology; • x-beam modulation parameters and the main devices influencing the formation of radiographic image; • the concept of radiographic image quality; • the main correlations and differences between traditional and digital radiographic image. RADIOLOGICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS, PROCESSING AND STORAGE OF IMAGES Learn the functions of an Hospital Information System (HIS) and clinical data management.
