Learning objectives
Students have to acquire the essential elements of physics and statistical methods, with particular reference to life-science phenomena and to the principles of computer science. PHYSICS: Physical quantities and their measurement. The basics of dynamics. Mechanics of fluids, Concepts of optometry, Thermology and calorimetry. Laws of thermodynamics. Status change. Theory of errors. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: Introduction to computer systems, hardware infrastructures, operating systems, web applications for the research of biomedical evidence. STATISTICS: The concept of statistical population and sample. Selection bias and randomization. The Gauss distribution. The concept of normal value. Evaluation of treatments on individuals and groups.
