Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning objectives
At the end of the course the student will be able to 1) know the general principles of Russian morphology; 2) be able to apply them to the comprehension of simple written and oral texts; 3) demonstrate to have the Russian language skills that correspond to the B1 level of the CEFR.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Students can take the exam only after they acquire the B1 language certificate.

It is reminded that certifications issued by the Language Center (CLA) or by an entity accredited by the Ministry of Universities have limited validity. For all students enrolled from the AY 2024-25 onwards, and for all certificates obtained from October 1, 2024, the new validity period will apply:
- A2 level validity: 2 years
- B1 level validity: 2 years
- B2 level validity: 3 years
- C1 level validity: 3 years
- C2 level validity: 3 years

Methods of teaching support:
Supplementary and supportive teaching materials will be uploaded to the course's Moodle platform. Students are nonetheless encouraged to contact the instructor via email or during office hours.
Students who need to make up for missed classes should get in touch with the instructor.
Finally, please note that specific support and tutoring activities are available for inclusion and accessibility, particularly for Language and Literature courses in the French, English, Russian, Spanish, and German areas. These activities will be advertised on the Department's webpage.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam consists of two parts: a written test and an oral exam.
WRITTEN TEST
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
The test includes questions and exercises on the grammatical structures and topics covered during the course.
ORAL EXAM (only for students who pass the written test)
The oral exam includes:
- review and correction of any mistakes from the written test exercises
- in-depth discussion of a selected topic in grammatical theory
- reading, translation, and commentary on a short text.
Evaluation criteria
Assessment criteria:
- content accuracy and completeness
- achievement of adequate analysis abilities
- clarity in the exposition, arguing ability
- knowledge of the subject-specific lexicon.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The final grade is calculated as the weighted arithmetic mean of the following components: language certificate (50%), written test (25%), and oral examination (25%). Further details regarding the correspondence between the language certificate and the 30-point grading scale can be found in the document "Vademecum normativo."

Type D and Type F activities
Type D and Type F Credits (CFUs D and F)
As part of the academic plans for each degree program, students must earn a specified number of credits from the Type D and F (CFUs D and F) categories.
CFUs D (student's choice activities)
CFUs D can be earned through various activities, including:
- Elective courses: non-mandatory courses within your plan of study, subject to the approval of the Chair of the Teaching Committee the course cannot be selected independently.
- Accredited activities: activities accredited by the Teaching Committee
- Language Proficiency: acquiring proficiency in languages different from or additional to the required ones.
- Internships or apprenticeships: practical work experience in relevant fields
- TALCs (Transversal Skills): skills gained through specific university programs.
The total number of CFUs D is calculated over the entire degree period (two or three years) and is not tied to a single academic year.

Contamination Lab
The Contamination Lab Verona (CLab Verona) is an experiential learning program focused on innovation and business culture. It offers students the opportunity to collaborate in teams across different programmes and disciplines to solve challenges posed private companies and institutions. Completing this pathway earns students 6 CFUs D. Learn more about the CLab challenges here.
Important Notes:
- To be eligible for any credit-bearing learning activities, including electives, students must be enrolled in the academic year during which the activities are offered.
- GRADUATING SENIORS: Students who plan to graduate in the November or March/April sessions are advised NOT to undertake extracurricular activities in a new academic year (in which they are not enrolled), as these graduation sessions correspond to the previous academic year. Activities completed during an academic year in which students is not enrolled will not be credited with CFUs.
CFUs F (other training activities)
CFUs F typically relate to skills in computing and languages, internships and apprenticeships, and other educational activities accredited by the Teaching Committee.
The degree program in Languages and Cultures for Tourism and International Commerce recognizes the following:
- 3 CFUs for a third language (B1 level)
- 3 CFUs for computer skills
- 6 CFUs for a mandatory internship.
Computer skills can be acquired by:
- Passing the test in the University's computer labs.
- Attending and passing the final exams for courses offered by schools and centres accredited by AICA (Italian Association for Computer Science and Automatic Computing) or courses recognized by the Province and Region. Applications for the recognition of previously acquired computer skills are reviewed by the Commission for the Recognition of Computer Skills.
Internship are designed to provide students with direct, practical knowledge and experience relevant to their field of study, helping them acquire specific professional skills.

Attendance is not mandatory.
More detailed information on attendance requirements, please refer to the “Regolamento del corso di studio”, available under the “Regolamenti” section in “Il Corso”. While the Student Handbook does not require mandatory attendance, it is recommended to confirm specific attendance policies with your professors for each course, lab, or practical training.

Internships and apprenticeships
A mandatory internship period (6 CFUs) within business organizations is included in the study plan for the Bachelor’s degree in Languages and Cultures for Tourism and International Commerce (L12).
The internship is designed to provide students with practical experience in areas relevant to their future professional careers and to help them acquire specific professional skills.
Internship activities are conducted under the direct supervision of an individual lecturer and take place at professional firms, public administration offices, and companies accredited by the University of Verona.
Credits earned through internship activities will be awarded in accordance with the detailed provisions of the current “Regolamento d’Ateneo per il riconoscimento dei crediti maturati negli stage universitari” (University Regulations for the Recognition of Credits Accrued in University Internships).
