Learning objectives
Describe the otorhinolaryngological and maxillofacial pathology of the developmental and infantile age and illustrate the different types of infantile hearing loss and the diagnostic aspects of screening and therapeutic. Know the procedures of audiometric evaluation and prosthetic efficiency that are the basis of speech therapy treatment. Correlate the Elements of odontostomatology in speech therapy rehabilitation. MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY MODULE Training objectives: The course aims to provide a precise knowledge of the main phases of embryological development and growth of the stomatognathic apparatus. It also provides information on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases affecting the oral and / or maxillofacial region. DIAGNOSIS MODULE AND TREATMENT OF THE DISORDERS OF THE CHILD'S HEARING PROCEDURE Training objectives: To teach students the importance of auditory stimulation in the development of both the auditory system and the psychic structure of the individual. MODULE OF OTORINOLARINGOIATRIC PATHOLOGIES OF THE EVOLVING AGE Training objectives: To provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary for the understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic acts of general otorhinolaryngology relevance in the developmental age. At the end of the course, the student must have a cultural background that allows him to communicate directly and immediately with the patient and his family about otorhinolaryngology. In particular, the student must have knowledge, as far as he is concerned, relating to the field of pathophysiology and clinical otorhinolaryngology in children, learn the fundamentals of functional and instrumental semeiotics and of methodology and therapy in otorhinolaryngology, of developmental age. Finally, he must have some knowledge of the main surgical techniques used daily in the otorhinolaryngology field in the developmental age. AUDIOMETRIC INTERPRETATION MODULE Educational objectives: At the end of the course, the student must be able to: estimate the auditory threshold obtained with subjective methods and objective methods. Know the type, characteristics and rehabilitative potential of hearing aids. Know the indications for prosthesis and cochlear implantation, with particular reference to childhood deafness.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Anatomy of the maxillo-facial region, nasal region, upper airways and ear. Fisiology of the districts mentioned.
