Learning objectives
To learn the physical basis of CT imaging, rules to use scannes respecting safety and radioprotection for patients examinations. In the course the technological aspects of CT scanners will be shown. Clinical indications and CT protcols will be presented referring to clinical indications. CT SCAN EQUIPMENT Provide basic knowledge on technology and architecture of CT scanners as well as on its dosimetry for a conscious use of this type of equipment. IMAGING CT To learn CT imging anatomy for different districts and organs. Protocols and dedicated studies for clinical indications will be discussed by viewing the anatomical aspects of organs in detail. CT: PHYSICAL PRINCIPLES AND RADIOPROTECTION Provide students with a basic physical knowledge of Computed Tomography and with the main techniques of reconstruction from projections, included the visualisation techniques. Analyze the radiation protection problems related to the use of CT. Analyze the methods of quantification of the image quality and his relationship with the operational parameters of the CT unit.CT: ACQUISITION TECHNIQUE AND PROTOCOLS The student will be able to choose CT protocols depending on the pathology and the anatomical region to be analysed, modifying scan parameters properly according to the patient's features, minimising the dose. The student will also be able to appropriately process, menage and file CT images according to the right post-processing.
