Acquire familiarity with the writing of research-based articles for submission to academic journals.

Prerequisites and basic notions

Program

The seminar focuses on several aspects related to accademic writing, including the different components of a research article, how to evaluate its consistency and rigour, how to analyse the argumentative structure of a research article and its internal consistency, and how to identify the elements that help produce a quality research paper. Critical aspects of the submission and peer review process will be discussed as well.

Didactic methods

The seminar uses a dialogic teaching approach that foresees continuous interactions between lecturers and doctoral students, and students’ active engagement in in-class assignments.
