Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Type D and Type F activities
Le attività formative di tipologia D sono a scelta dello studente, quelle di tipologia F sono ulteriori conoscenze utili all’inserimento nel mondo del lavoro (tirocini, competenze trasversali, project works, ecc.). In base al Regolamento Didattico del Corso, alcune attività possono essere scelte e inserite autonomamente a libretto, altre devono essere approvate da apposita commissione per verificarne la coerenza con il piano di studio. Le attività formative di tipologia D o F possono essere ricoperte dalle seguenti attività.
1. Insegnamenti impartiti presso l'Università di Verona
Comprendono gli insegnamenti sotto riportati e/o nel Catalogo degli insegnamenti (che può essere filtrato anche per lingua di erogazione tramite la Ricerca avanzata).
Modalità di inserimento a libretto: se l'insegnamento è compreso tra quelli sottoelencati, lo studente può inserirlo autonomamente durante il periodo in cui il piano di studi è aperto; in caso contrario, lo studente deve fare richiesta alla Segreteria, inviando a carriere.scienze@ateneo.univr.it il modulo nel periodo indicato.
2. Attestato o equipollenza linguistica CLA
Oltre a quelle richieste dal piano di studi, per gli immatricolati A.A. 2021/2022 e A.A. 2022/2023 vengono riconosciute:
- Lingua inglese: vengono riconosciuti 3 CFU per ogni livello di competenza superiore a quello richiesto dal corso di studio (se non già riconosciuto nel ciclo di studi precedente).
- Altre lingue e italiano per stranieri: vengono riconosciuti 3 CFU per ogni livello di competenza a partire da A2 (se non già riconosciuto nel ciclo di studi precedente).
Tali cfu saranno riconosciuti, fino ad un massimo di 3 cfu complessivi, di tipologia D. Solo nel caso in cui la data di acquisizione della certificazione sia precedente al 27/10/2023 (data della delibera del Collegio didattico di Ingegneria dell'Informazione) potranno essere riconosciuti un massimo di 6 CFU, come precedentemente previsto. Ulteriori crediti a scelta per conoscenze linguistiche potranno essere riconosciuti solo se coerenti con il progetto formativo dello studente e se adeguatamente motivati.
Per gli immatricolati A.A. 2023/2024 i crediti per certificazioni linguistiche ulteriori a quelle previste dal piano didattico vengono riconosciuti come crediti sovrannumerari taf D.

3. Competenze trasversali

Modalità di inserimento a libretto: non è previsto l'inserimento dell'insegnamento nel piano di studi. Solo in seguito all'ottenimento dell'Open Badge verranno automaticamente convalidati i CFU a libretto. La registrazione dei CFU in carriera non è istantanea, ma ci saranno da attendere dei tempi tecnici.
4. CONTAMINATION LAB
Il Contamination Lab Verona (CLab Verona) è un percorso esperienziale con moduli dedicati all'innovazione e alla cultura d'impresa che offre la possibilità di lavorare in team con studenti e studentesse di tutti i corsi di studio per risolvere sfide lanciate da aziende ed enti. ATTENZIONE: Per essere ammessi a sostenere una qualsiasi attività didattica, incluse quelle a scelta, è necessario essere iscritti all'anno di corso in cui essa viene offerta. Si raccomanda, pertanto, ai laureandi delle sessioni di dicembre e aprile di NON svolgere attività extracurriculari del nuovo anno accademico, cui loro non risultano iscritti, essendo tali sessioni di laurea con validità riferita all'anno accademico precedente. Quindi, per attività svolte in un anno accademico cui non si è iscritti, non si potrà dar luogo a riconoscimento di CFU.

Learning objectives
The objectives of the course address the isssues related to the security during the exchange of private data among the different actors of the medical process and the issues related to the safeguard of data privacy
Prerequisites and basic notions
No specific prerequisites are required.
Program
The course aims to provide students with a basic knowledge of the relationship between technology and law.
Within this framework, specific attention will be devoted to the legal regulation of the processing of personal data, with particular regard to health data and, more generally, to data that may come to light in the context of medical treatments.
The lessons, through a presentation of the concepts of ‘person’, ‘technology’, ‘legal subject’, ‘data/legal good’ and through the analysis of the main national and supranational regulations, of the Italian Data Protection Authority' guidelines and of the most relevant rulings of the national Courts and of the Court of Justice of the European Union, aim at reconstructing an organic framework of the subject moving, mainly, within the following thematic areas:
- A brief outline of the relationship between law, science and technology in the epistemological evolution from the 19th century to the present;
- The nature, foundation and actual legal identity of the paradigms ‘person’, ‘subject’, ‘individuality’, ‘community’, ‘good’, ‘data’ and the potential problems given by their intersection;
- the General Data Protection Regulation, better known as “GDPR" (EU Regulation 2016/679), accompanied by Legislative Decree No. 101 of 10 August 2018;
- the Personal Data Protection Code set out in Legislative Decree No 196 of 30 June 2003, also known as the "Privacy Code";
- the rules on the processing of personal data contained in EU Regulation 2017/745 on medical devices and EU Regulation 2017/746 on in vitro diagnostic devices;
- the European Data Strategy and the construction of a single data market: European data sharing and governance in the Data Governance Act (EU Regulation 2022/868); the Data Act (EU Regulation 2023/2854); the proposed regulation for a European Health Data Area.
Bibliography
Didactic methods
The Lessons will alternate between the traditional method of frontal explanation and the analysis of practical cases based on the Problem-based learning method. A lot of space will also be devoted to discussion of the topics being explained, encouraging constant dialogue between students and lecturers. An area of the course may also be used for in-depth seminars on specific topics with the involvement of professionals and external experts in the subjects covered.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam consists of an oral test.
For ERASMUS students, the examination arrangements are agreed in advance with the lecturers.
Evaluation criteria
The evaluation will be based on the following criteria
- the depth and breadth of knowledge gained;
- the property of language;
- the analytical and argumentative capacity;
- the capacity for critical reflection.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The outcome of the exam is given by the evaluation, expressed in 30ths (plus honors if applicable), of the oral exam taken by the student.

Attendance modes and venues
The inter-university nature of the course of study lies in the cooperation of the three universities in the provision of faculty. Therefore, teaching delivery takes place at the administrative and teaching site in Verona and not in the partner universities. This means that it is not possible to attend this bachelor's degree program in the University of Trento or Modena-Reggio Emilia; however, it is possible to use the study spaces of the partner universities, thanks to the agreement between them.
As stated in the Didactic Regulations, course attendance is not mandatory.

The course's teaching activities take place in the Science and Engineering area, which consists of the buildings of Ca‘ Vignal 1, Ca’ Vignal 2, Ca' Vignal 3 and Piramide, located in the Borgo Roma campus.
Lectures are held in the classrooms of Ca‘ Vignal 1, Ca’ Vignal 2 and Ca' Vignal 3, while practical exercises take place in the teaching laboratories dedicated to the various activities.

Graduation
The final exam carries 6CFU.
The final exam is taken at the presence of two faculty members, including the Supervisor, and consists of one or both of the following options:

A brief written report, which may also be in English, describing the thesis work;

An oral presentation, supported by slides (such as PowerPoint), that illustrates the thesis work, which may also be in English.
Following the exam, the graduation takes place on the dates set in the Academic Calendar.
The final degree score is determined by a Graduation Committee composed of at least three faculty members, including the supervisor. The supervisor can be any tenured professor from the University of Verona, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, or the University of Trento. Committee members must belong to a scientific-disciplinary sector (SSD) within the degree programme plan.
The Graduation Committee assigns a final grade on a scale of 110, with the possibility of honors. The minimum score required to pass the final exam is 66/110. The admission grade is determined by converting the weighted average of the course grades (based on CFUs) to a 110-point scale and rounding to the nearest whole number. The evaluation of the academic curriculum is based on the following criteria (which positively account for honors and Erasmus periods and negatively for any delays in the course of study):

If on time: 3.5 + 0.2 * number of honors;

If delayed: 3.5 - 0.5 * number of extra years + 0.1 * number of honors;
-
1 point for every 3 months of completed Erasmus study.
Additionally, 2 extra points will be awarded for completing at least 12 CFU at foreign universities.
In any case, the total increase from the evaluation of the thesis and the academic record cannot exceed 8 points.
The award of final honors, in the case of a score of at least 110, is at the discretion of the Graduation Committee and is only granted if the committee's decision is unanimous.
